01Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pointspector mobile app and the website at pointspector.com (together, the "Service"), operated by Pointspector ("Pointspector," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using Pointspector, you represent that you meet these requirements.
03The service
Pointspector helps you organize the credit cards you already have and suggests which card may earn the most rewards for a given category, based on earning rates and cents-per-point valuations. It also tracks welcome offers, models certain card earnings, and estimates the value of points redemptions.
The Service is an informational tool. The card data, rewards rates, welcome offers, and point valuations it shows are estimates compiled from various sources, may be incomplete or out of date, and can change at any time. Always confirm current terms directly with the card issuer before making a decision.
04Not financial advice
Pointspector is not a financial advisor, credit counselor, or broker, and nothing in the Service is financial, credit, tax, or legal advice.
Recommendations are general and don't account for your full financial situation. Applying for credit cards can affect your credit, involves fees and interest, and carries risk. You're solely responsible for your own financial decisions, and you should consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
We don't guarantee that you'll be approved for any card, earn any welcome offer or referral bonus, or achieve any particular rewards value. Approval, bonuses, and terms are determined solely by the card issuer.
05Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your wallet and inputs up to date so recommendations are meaningful.
- Notify us promptly at support@pointspector.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
06Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
- Copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service's data or content without permission
- Reverse-engineer, interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Misuse referral links or violate the terms of any card issuer
07Referral links and third parties
Some "Apply Now" links are personal referral links, and we may receive a referral bonus if you're approved through one, at no extra cost to you. When you follow any such link you leave Pointspector and continue on a third-party site governed by that party's own terms and privacy policy.
We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party sites, products, issuer decisions, or the accuracy of third-party offers. Your dealings with any card issuer are solely between you and them.
08Intellectual property
The Service, including its name, design, text, and software, is owned by Pointspector and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not use our branding without our prior written permission.
09Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the data it shows is accurate, complete, or current.
10Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pointspector and its operators won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, rewards, points, or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD $50.
11Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pointspector and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
12Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing support@pointspector.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
13Changes to the terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
14Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute relating to the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
